The competitiveness cluster of the technical and functional textile industry in Rhône-Alpes

Since its creation in 2005, Techtera has recruited more than 100 members.

Its strength comes from the dynamism and innovative potential of its members and from a sound competent network :

• Big industrial groups, prominent in the industry: Porcher, Chomarat, Ganzoni, Thuasne, Staubli, Tetra Medical…
• Highly Innovative SMEs: Sofila, les Tissages de Charlieu, Fibroline, Cédric Brochier Technologies, Setila, Texinov…
• Highly efficient research centres, technical centres and training centres: Université Claude Bernard Lyon I, ITECH, INSA, IFTH, CTTN, CTP…

Today, the cluster has 95 direct members, of which : 

• 72 businesses (65% SMEs)
• 15 research centres
• 4 training centres
  

Techtera's members are mostly SMEs (less than 250 employees), which is one of the cluster’s special features and strengths. In fact, the DIACT (Inter-ministry Delegation for Territorial Development and Competitiveness) has determined the involvement of SMEs in the activities of competitiveness clusters as a condition for financial growth.
