Techtera has defined 3 strategic R&D guidelines for 2008-2012. These guidelines hold a great importance for the technical textiles and flexible materials industry (e.g. paper, leather, etc.):

  • Raw materials, and the development of new fibres
  • New functions in textile, meeting special market requirements and/or the development of high technological-value-added multifunctional products.
  • Synergies of skills and sectors (microelectronic, biology, etc.) in order to develop hybrid textiles and hybrid flexible materials, in an area (RhĂ´ne-Alpes) rich in possibilities for cooperation.

The Techtera services

The Techtera label

Techtera raises strategic questions addressing major technical and economical issues of the technical textile industry. The cluster assists collaborative research proposals resulting from this questioning process, up to trial phase and products prototyping.

The “Techtera approved” label guarantees a highly innovative project and a thorough collaborative process : 104 projects have already got this label.
