Techtera aims at smooth, quick and responsive governance.
The cluster is managed by:
- the Board of Directors consists of 4 member companies colleges, with the objective of ensuring a word for every part of the association
- the Executive Bureau ensures the implementation of the board of directors’ decisions, and decides to support or not R&D projects, based on detailed reports from the Scientific and Technical Commission.
- the Scientific and Technical Commission, comprising technical and industrial experts. They gather once a month in order to assess prospects for projects.
Techtera’s founding CEO is Mr Jean-Charles Potelle, who also runs an SME company.
The strategy of Techtera for 2008-2012 follows 3 main guidelines:
- the control of upstream channels (in the production line), through innovation on raw materials and the development of international projects with major spinning companies, especially with Japan.
- A focus on textile multi-functionality, by innovating on technologies and processes and developing standards as a support for innovation.
- the development of hybrid textile and flexible technological materials, especially through 3D textiles
All supported projects can be related to one of these 3 guidelines:
- 7% in the “control of upstream channels” guideline
- 16% in the “hybrid textile and flexible technological materials” guideline
- 23% in the “multi-functionality” guideline
