At the same time as opening its “Experience store” in Munich, Salomon presented a new running shoe. Developed in the Salomon – Annecy R&D centre, this shoe can be fully recycled into a ski boot shell. Still in the design stage, the shoe is made of thermoplastic polyurethane. At the end of its service-life, it can be ground down and mixed with new raw material, to be integrated into the process of manufacturing the shell of a ski boot. Even if the shoe is not currently marketed, this success paves the way for eco-friendly manufacturing opportunities for high-performance sports products.
