CANOE has developed new piezoelectric fibres capable of generating an electrical signal when deformed. These fibres are an innovative element for textiles or composite materials that are “intelligent” or sensitive to a stimulus.
Also, CANOE is intensively working on the development of new low-cost carbon fibre from lignocellulosic sources. These are used as mechanical reinforcement in composites, such as electrode material for energy storage or piezo-resistive sensors.
