The R&D Booster scheme was created in 2017 by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region. It aims to finance Research and Development projects and launch new products, processes and services on the short- or medium-term market (between 12 and 24 months).
Since 2017, Techtera has approved three projects funded by the R&D Booster scheme, including FOURMI and AC2M2:
- The aim of the FOURMI project is to develop an innovative technology for monitoring surfaces, using a smart textile (Lightex®). One of these new technology applications will be the development of a new monitoring system for structural work and identify signs of deterioration, thereby limiting heavy maintenance jobs.
- The AC2M2 project (Composite Armatures with Mineral Matrixes) aims at developing a prototype production line of composite armatures, with multifunctional hybrid textile reinforcements and mineral matrix. With the current trend for lighter weight, refinement, modularity and stronger building materials, high-performance concrete needs suitable armatures. Textiles lend themselves perfectly to these functions to answer the problems of the building sector. This project’s purpose is to improve structural service life, reduce the environmental impact of component production, while improving the thermal properties of products. Eventually, the developments generated by AC2M2 will make it possible to evolve building procedures; especially through the use of new implementation technologies (E.g.: 3D printing).
These three projects reflect the vitality of the textile sector, which continues to innovate.
