CLUB SMART TEXTILES & WEARABLES (Stew)
The STeW was born to meet the needs of support and structure of its members on the topic of smart textiles and wearables.
The club consists of 35 members (large industrial groups, SMEs and laboratories).
The STeW deals with the following topics
- Smart materials and/or smart systems (able toreact to different kinds of stimuli).
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Sensors, actuators, energy management, data transfer.
- New applications, business models and innovation trends.
- Regulatory framework and norms.
The club targets 4 main objectives
- Galvanize the members’ network on the topic of smart textiles and wearables
- Foster collaborative projects on this thematic
- Provide a fitting environment to the participants for a better exchange of information, experiences and best practices
- Offer the necessary conditions for a technical, scientific and business emulation on the topic

CLUB Recycling and circular economy in the textile industry (RECIT)
In January 2017, TECHTERA creates the club RECIT: Recycling and Circular Economy in the Textile Industry (French: Recyclage et Economie Circulaire dans l’Industrie Textile) with the will to foster collaborative valorization initiatives. The RECIT will contribute to structure a valorisation value chain for textile waste, with an important local commitment.
The recit focuses on production waste and deals with the following topics
- Setting up a waste collection among companies for the consolidation of the deposit.
- Traceability and identification of the leftovers (forms, quantities, recurrence…).
- Eco-design for reducing production waste (processes, production management methods).
- Necessary technologies to deal with production leftovers (Future and existing processes and innovations).
- Valorisation through upcycling and collaboraation with designers.
- Business model of a recycling industry (costs, benefits…).
- Applicative markets and products made with recycled textiles.
The recit has 5 main objectives
