Final Event AlpTextyles

21 . 10 . 2025
HOTEL DE REGION  - 101 cours Charlemagne, 69002 LYON (9h-13h30)

Launched in November 2022, the AlpTextyles project is soon coming to an end.
Co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg Alpine Space programme, AlpTextyles has, over the past three years, explored the Alpine textile heritage—both artisanal and industrial: its history, its know-how, its preservation, and its transmission.

The aim of the project is to support the development of sustainable and circular value chains in the Alps by funding pilot initiatives around wool, natural dyes, and hemp, as well as pastoralism, the preservation, and the transmission of these ancestral skills.

On October 21, Techtera will host the project’s final event at the Hôtel de Région in Lyon, welcoming its 12 partners based in six Alpine border countries.
This event will be an opportunity to review the achievements of the past three years while also opening new perspectives for the future of textiles in the Alps.

Several testimonials will follow one another to present the project’s key results: the natural and co-product-based dyes developed by Mediplant, the wool library created by Fibershed Dach, and the orientation guide produced by Techtera to support Alpine companies in their development.

These presentations will be followed by two round tables on the following topics:

    • Viability of local and sustainable production business models
  • Potential of tourism and textile know-how as a tool for the ecological and economic transition of the Alpine region
