Led by Léon Brosse, the SENTMI project, certified by Techtera, is a technological innovation for the safety and maintenance of infrastructures. Conceived by a consortium of organisations from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, it relies on a smart textile sensor capable of detecting, in real time, signs of deterioration in structures such as bridges and concrete buildings.
This 10×10 cm patch, coupled with an electronic card, sends instant data to a dedicated application, alerting managers of potential anomalies – without waiting for an inspection! This technology aims to prevent the risk of serious accidents while optimising maintenance operations.
Among the key project partners, there are three members of Techtera:
- Brochier Technologies, an expert concerning optical fibre technical textiles
- Inouid, a specialist in connected objects
- Laboratoire LOCIE at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc, a major organisation in applied research
SENTMI, which has been in the testing phase for a year, is aiming for commercialisation by the end of 2025 or early 2026. The consortium is currently seeking pilot users to enrich its database and refine its artificial intelligence.
