Refashion is the eco-organisation for the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme for clothing textiles, household linen, and footwear. Refashion, a private, non-profit company approved by the French government, is funded by businesses involved in the market (brands, distributors and manufacturers) through eco-contributions. This way, it deals with the prevention and end-of-life management of the consumer products sold on the French market by these businesses.
At the heart of the Textiles & Footwear ecosystem, Refashion is committed to a communal and cooperative approach, aimed at mobilising all those working in the sector. Its mission is to unite and support all those involved, to reduce environmental impact and create value by providing tools, services, and information to encourage Fashion & Style to be more responsible and circular.
Refashion also acts as a catalyst for innovation: in 2024, over €6 million was committed to funding R&D and creating a French and European industrial sector for recycling textiles. The eco-organisation thus finances innovation and industrialisation through its financial and support mechanisms; encouraging the transformation of textile and footwear waste into new resources for the circular economy.
