About
La Petite Manchester is an “educational factory-school”, a bridge between education and industry. It provides learners with manufacturing tools and techniques through the technical facilities established at Lycée Louis Armand.
It develops three additional activities (recycling, production and innovation) to foster the employability of the artisan-designers of tomorrow. La Petite Manchester’s objective is to help them enter the job market and support them in building their professional career plans.
Its missions:
Welcome different types of learners by providing access to technical resources and encouraging the sharing of knowledge and expertise.
Transform traditional learning processes into new and innovative educational experiences, promote lifelong learning, develop craftsmanship skills and encourage a “do-it-yourself” approach.
Experiment, prototype and manufacture by upcycling industrial textile waste generated within the local area.
Develop an inclusive textile industry that promotes local materials and local skills.
