Project description
Eurostars is an international funding programme supporting collaborative R&D and innovation projects that are close to market and carried out by transnational consortia.
The programme focuses on the development of innovative new products, processes or services with a clear path to commercialisation. Projects must focus exclusively on civilian applications.
Projects must be built on strong international collaboration, combining the expertise of industrial and academic partners. Each project partner is funded by its respective national funding body, subject to the specific conditions in force in each country participating in the Eureka programme.

- Funding Conditions:
SMEs from Eurostars countries must account for ≥ 50% of the total project budget
No single participant or country may account for more than 70% of the total budget
Projects must focus exclusively on civilian applications - Eligibility and Evaluation Criteria:
Excellence: innovation, technical challenge and feasibility
Impact: market potential, competitive advantage and commercialisation

Only one application per call
Following a funded project, a three-year waiting period applies before submitting a new application
Applicants must demonstrate their ability to self-finance the required equity contribution - Funding Rates by Type of Organisation
SMEs: Up to 40% of eligible R&D expenditure
Large companies (< 2,000 employees*): Up to 30% of eligible R&D expenditure
Research organisations / universities: Up to 40% of full costs
*There is currently no available budget for French companies with more than 2,000 employees.

Companies: €50,000 to €3 million in grants
Academic partners: Maximum of €120,000 if a French SME is part of the consortium; otherwise, a maximum of €50,000 - Project Duration: Maximum 36 months
- Deadlines: 10 September 2026 and 4 March 2027
