SFIP – the French Society of Plastics Engineers -, CNEP – Center National for Evaluation of Photoprotection – DECATHLON & TECHTERA are organising on 4 and 5 June 2025 a congress dedicated to polymer-based materials in Sports.
Leisure activities, the practice of amateur sports and the search for performance by top athletes rely on ever more advanced materials.
Thanks to their outstanding characteristics, in particular their mechanical and physical properties, and their ability to present various aspects, shapes and colours, polymeric materials play a crucial role for the production of:
- goods and accessories for sports: balls, skis, rackets, bicycles, snowboards, etc.
- individual equipment for sports and leisure: clothing, shoes, bags, helmets, tents, safety equipment, etc.
- sports and leisure facilities: surfaces, tracks, seats, sports facility covers, liner, playgrounds, etc.
One year after the Paris Paris Olympic & Paralympic Games, we will be able to measure the progress made in the performance of materials and identify the areas in which innovation work remains to be undertaken by academic and industrial research institutions.
Main topics
- Sustainable development / performance: Sustainability, recycling, light weighting, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), eco-design, relocation.
- Materials and Processes Innovation: Raw materials, connected materials, advanced manufacturing, 3D printing, performance.
- Regulations: Extended producer responsibility (EPR) and environmental issues.
- Trends : Sport & disability, e-sport.
