As part of Trophies for the Future: Europe 1 rewards companies, associations or communities for their audacity, their innovation and their vision. Fluxmedicare, a patented luminous textile with optical fibres for treating precancerous skin lesions, is in the running for the “Health” category.
Resulting from several years of research in partnership with respected laboratories and doctors, the Fluxmedicare device, manufactured in Isère by MDB Texinov, member of the Techtera innovation cluster, revolutionises the photodynamic therapy (PDT) treatment of skin diseases – dividing the pain endured by a factor of 10!
In particular, Fluxmedicare is dedicated to the treatment of actinic keratosis by photodynamic therapy. Mainly located on the face, scalp and back of the hands, actinic keratoses are precancerous skin lesions, generally caused by unprotected exposure to the sun. The photodynamic therapy treatment is effective, but in its conventional form can be extremely painful for patients. Consisting of a laser source and a patented luminous textile with optical fibres, Fluxmedicare thus makes it possible to carry out an almost painless treatment thanks to its innovative technology of light diffusion.
