Launch of the DDS project led by Thuasne: a digitalised dynamic compression system for post-cancer lymphedema

18 . 03 . 2026

On February 10, 2026, Thuasne received an award presented by the Prefect of the Loire, Muriel Nguyen, as a winner of the regional I-Demo programme (France 2030). This distinction recognises an organisational project for the regional health-tech sector and marks the launch of the DDS project: dynamic de-congestive system, certified by Techtera. Led in partnership with Jean Monnet University in Saint-Étienne, the project is supported by the French government, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and Bpifrance.

An innovation for lymphedema management

Post-cancer lymphedema is a debilitating chronic condition affecting approximately 200,000 people in France and nearly 250 million throughout the world. The treatment and care are often complex, lengthy and unequally accessible.

The extensive expertise of Thuasne in medical compression, along with its patented Mobiderm technology, will enable the development of a new generation of Class II connected devices.

The aim: to help patients to become more independent and active participants in their treatment.

A convergence of textiles, electronics, and digital health

This project exemplifies the digital transformation underway in the industry; and the growing importance of smart textiles at the intersection of microelectronics and connected health.

Based in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, it contributes to the development of skilled R&D jobs and strengthens the local industrial value chain. The ambition of Thuasne is international, with planned expansion in Europe and the United States.

Through this investment, Thuasne confirms its leading role in the regional health-tech sector. Once again, It demonstrates, the ability of technical textiles to address major public health challenges.
