MCVE et FLAXCO s’allient pour industrialiser des solutions 3D biosourcées et durables à base de lin
MCVE and FLAXCO are joining forces to develop biosourced fabrics based on flax. Also, a biosourced matrix made from PA10-10 polymers. Winner of the EUREKA competition, the consortium will receive funding that will increase the technological readiness level (TRL) in order to achieve industrialisation of the technology within the next two years.
This technology, called Flaxtronic, is a 3D manufacturing process that integrates printed electronics and their components directly onto the surface of the bio-organosheet during automated thermoforming. This allows for the integration of functionality right from the design phase. Another advantage of this technology is its sustainability: using the existing structure and materials of the product (e.g. an illuminated door panel) allows for the incorporation of functional electronic components into the structural surface, thus reducing the ecological footprint of the desired functionality.
Thanks to this consortium, Flaxtronic technology can propose fully integrated systems for the industry; controlling all aspects; going from intellectual property up to manufacturing (printing, high-pressure thermoforming, injection moulding), as well as functionalities such as lighting, heating, antennas, and many others.
This printed electronic process offers a fully integrated and highly scalable manufacturing and technology infrastructure, capable of meeting the global market demand for 3D products based on bio-sourced products such as bio-organosheets (flax, hemp) combined with bio-sourced matrices.
