Qiova, an industrial start-up specialising in laser marking, has just raised €2.25 million, marking the entry of the Saint-Etienne based Neyret Group into its capital.
Neyret, manufacturer of ribbons, labels and textile accessories, sees in Qiova an opportunity to offer its clients in the luxury sector a global solution in terms of traceability, information and the fight against counterfeiting.
QiOVA systems enable the identification and unit traceability of products, components and medications manufactured in large quantities. Its patented technology makes it possible to mark a 2D code in a single ultra-fast laser pulse, easily integrated into high-speed production lines.
This fundraising will allow QiOVA to accelerate the transition to industrial scale of its marking systems.
Producer of 70 million metres of printed ribbons and 100 million woven labels and accessories, the “Maison Neyret” Group provides innovative weaving technology. This technology makes it possible to integrate unique QR codes (quick response codes) into textile products for information purposes, counterfeiting prevention, unit traceability and digital marketing.
The combination of know-how and technologies from QiOVA and Neyret will make it possible to deploy this innovation on other materials and on other products processed within the Group, to cope with the most demanding brands.
