Two flagship projects involving Techtera were completed in December 2025: RegioGreenTex and AlpTextyles.
These two European projects share a common objective: to support the development of a circular textile sector in Europe, while employing different strategies.
RegioGreenTex
The first, RegioGreenTex, worked for three years to develop a robust circular textile ecosystem at the European level; fostering innovation and cooperation between regions.
To this end, the partners, from eight European countries: identified the needs and opportunities related to circularity in their regions; developed a digital platform to facilitate connections between textile resource owners and value chain operators; and supported 25 SMEs in carrying out pilot investments. Among them, two Techtera members benefited from the programme:
- ROVITEX, which financed the acquisition of a new ultrasonic lamination/quilting machine, enabling it to access new markets,
- RECYC’ELIT, which accelerated the deployment of its chemical recycling solution thanks to the financing of an industrial demonstrator

AlpTextyles
The second project, AlpTextyles, contributed to strengthening interregional cooperation across the Alpine region.
Its objective was to explore and promote Alpine textile heritage, linked in particular to pastoralism and wool, but also to hemp and endemic dye plants. This is to preserve the European heritage and make it the foundation of a new circular economy, respectful of the special Alpine environment; and conveying the values of nature, tradition, performance and individuality.
Through a strategy combining economics, sociology, geography and education, the project highlighted the need to foster exchanges between generations; between urban and rural populations; and between sectors of activity. These interactions appear essential to support the transition, develop more resilient value chains, and encourage synergies in which textiles and tourism mutually reinforce each other – with the by-products of one becoming the raw materials of the other.
