Techtera: 2025 Action Plan to Accelerate Innovation and Competitiveness in the Textile Industry

21 . 03 . 2025

Structured around Innovation, Economic development, Internationalisation, and the Industry’s influence, the Techtera 2025 action plan aims to support companies in their technological and environmental transformation.

Stimulate Innovation and Research

Techtera will continue its role as an innovation catalyst by supporting the emergence of collaborative projects through its thematic clubs and workshops. These especially concern artificial intelligence and new energies. Techtera will launch Optitex, the Defence Incubator, to address the priority needs of frontline medicine in partnership with Minalogic.

Furthermore, Techtera will strengthen the link between research and industry by representing manufacturers through its participation in the PEPR Textile Recycling programmes and in the Carnot Institutes. The European newsletter and missions, such as the one organised at the DITF in February and soon at Centexbel, will facilitate collaboration with international organisations.

Economic Development and Competitiveness

In 2025, Techtera will intensify efforts to expand its membership network and strengthen its ties with defence organisations. Strong initiatives will be deployed concerning the circular economy, notably by implementing the sector agreement, organising events such as “Demain le Textile”, and training courses for teams and companies concerning eco-design and production-waste mapping. Support for digitalisation will continue with Digital Maturity Diagnostics and thinking about a future European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH).

Techtera will support company competitiveness through enhanced support for private financing and events dedicated to regional opportunities.

International and Industry Outreach

The cluster will strengthen its international support by accompanying its members to the JEC WORLD, A+A, and Pollutec trade shows, as well as exploratory missions in Flanders and at Centexbel. Techtera will also continue its commitment to the “Horizon Europe” and “Textiles of the Future” projects.

With its clear ambition, Techtera is positioning itself more than ever as a key player in textile development and innovation – in France and Europe.
