Symbio is the technological and industrial leader as regards hydrogen fuel cells in Europe. As a partner among pioneers of the transition to zero-emission, Symbio develops and produces a large and wide range of StackPack™, high-performance, competitive, and sustainable hydrogen fuel cell systems, for the electrification of mobile machines and stationary applications. Founded in 2010, the Group currently operates in Europe, with its IATF 16949-certified Gigafactory in Saint-Fons (France), and in North America with its Temecula site in California, USA. Symbio is a 50/50 joint venture between Forvia, Michelin and Stellantis.
The fuel cell and textile industries have complementary skills concerning the materials and also the industrial processes. The recycling of fibrous materials used in the composition of fuel cells and the use of recycled fibres are mutual challenges. In terms of industrial processes, they share common manufacturing techniques, such as heat treatments and special surface coatings.
The technology transfer between these two sectors, each with its unique expertise, paves the way for new solutions to serve the competitiveness of French industry and the environmental transition.
