Since raising €3 million in private investment funds in June 2020, BeFC has continued to develop its sustainable energy source based on paper and biological catalysts called enzymes. Sugar and oxygen are transformed into electricity, for powering low-energy electronic devices.
At the same time, BeFC is developing electronic systems dedicated to bio-enzymatic cells in paper, comprising sensors, microprocessors and wireless communication modules in order to adapt to different markets.
Created in May 2020, BeFC celebrates its first anniversary and begins the industrialisation phase of its sustainable bio-cells in order to achieve mass production scheduled for early 2023.
